People are buying physical copies? I just assumed that everyone was buying from ArenaNet's website for digital downloads. This surprises me.

Im not shocked £49.99 for a digital STANDARD version of a game is INSANE - Even though it has no monthly fee that is still a high price

Personally, I don't have a problem paying more than £49.99 for a product that I support. If it were easier, I'd just donate additional money to the company to show my support and promote future development from the company. Since they've added micro transactions into the game, I'll just pay for a bunch of game additions (bank tabs, character slots, bag slots) with what I would have donated.
P.S. - Sorry for derailing your thread. I hope you can find the game in your price range.

I guess that the 3day head start goes add a bit too the cost, I think with the cash store thing they COULD Have reduced the price a bit as well. But hey the games going too be awesome so i dont mind as much
On Topic : VERY nice price for Pre-order great for those that dont mind missing the 3day head start

i just put it up for the people who may not be able to afford the £49.99 due to any problems or maybe if some people are still sitting on the fence about if they should buy it or not then im pretty sure £30 for a game of all this content is very good value for there money

I agree, its a great deal for those that dont need or want the 3 day head start thats what you are paying for with the £49.99 price tag (hefty i know) but if those dont bother you and you are more of a casual player that doesnt NEED to get in there and do everything first, reach max level first, do all the content first but the kind of person that just wants too have fun (when did this become a second thought in games nowadays :/) then the £29.99 price tag is a VERY good one

Looks like Ill be paying £20 more for 2 days game time, I can't turn down a whole weekend of play, and I want to be extra sure I get my char names! Quick question: If the normal method of purchase of a digital copy is through the ANet website, when do you get to begin that massive download?
If you can give up the headstart though, and the physical copy avoids any downloads, the 30quid seems very reasonable!

The beta client if you have it is the one going too be used in the full release, though might have some updates would expect it too have less then the disc copy though as that will likely have been sent out too retailers already. I would expect that store wont have the head start option and will ikely have (at a guess) 5-10gb worth of updates after its installed
If you havent played the betas then i am not so sure about when you can download it - i would assume right away as you have already purchased and paid for the game

This is the first game I have bought a digital copy of.People are buying physical copies? I just assumed that everyone was buying from ArenaNet's website for digital downloads. This surprises me.
I really like having the box of the game, but the pre-order bonuses were too good to give up this time around.
Then again, i have bought every single box of the world of Warcraft games just because of how well done they are.
