You should have no problems running GW2 at high settings.

I would consdier upgrading your operating system and game programs to a SSD hard drive. You have a nice machine that is bottlenecked by 1990s hard drive technology.

I agree you will not have issues running Guild Wars 2. I disagree with Chev however and think you should not upgrade to an SSD and instead wait for SSD prices to fall when manufacturers introduce "Cache Drives" (Here's some!) specifically aimed towards taking advantage of Intel SRT which in my opinion is the superior technology and is something everyone should look into when purchasing an SSD.

Well I think it would be enjoyable debating SSD drives as Storage vs Cache use. We could go into stability of HDD and SSD, cost of the uses and which users need what.

However, I think we can agree that your current data transfer with the HDD is holding you back (you should still be able to play fine). Otherwise your system is more than sufficient. Your data throughput is more of an effort to bring your data speeds up to what your computer is capable of.

Currently yes the HDD speeds are holding us back, the reason they are holding us back is because in my opinion Flash Technology in SSD's is still to expensive for the end-users (You and I) and as a result we're paying something like $1 - $2 per GB while the hard drives which recently shot up in price are still around 0.010 - 0.020 per GB which is something that is stopping me from purchasing them. Yes, SSD's are fast, Yes they will increase your performance while you're loading, I do not think that at the current price they are at they will be able to be a justified purchase for some people if it means taking large amounts of money out of their CPU, GPU or Motherboard fund which will have an overall larger impact on performance in-game than an SSD will.

The way I view it, if you have more than 1.5k to spend on a PC go ahead and buy an SSD, if you do not have that kind of money openly available to you an SSD should be considered for an upgrade in the future as prices fall. Even the Corsair Cache SSD's I mention at still $129 for 60GB, when that price gets around $80 for 60GB I would consider it. Currently Intel SRT is the only reason I can even think of owning an SSD, I do not think they are at the point where they are actually worth investing in if it means downgrading a component in your system.

PS: 7.5 out of 10. 7.5 because there are still upgrades which could be made. This does not mean your PC is bad, it just means that people willing to spend 2k just on their CPU and GPU which pushes down your overall rating. If you compare it to the bulk of gaming PC's it's better than some and the same as others.

Hard to say that at this point. The game isn't optimized at all.

While it's true that the game isn't optimized we have information from the developers that states that they are designing Guild Wars 2 to be able to run on older hardware, so old that they had to use things like ebay to find the hardware and order it that way. The game to my knowledge is using an upgraded Guild Wars 1 engine and with the specifications they have listed and my experience with games going from a Beta to Launched state the game will run terrifically on this system. The people who should be worried are the people with 2GB of RAM, Single Core CPU and on-board graphic chips.

Then logically if it runs fine in an unoptimized build it will surly run better in a properly optimized one.

Especially when the current build uses only 1 core of your CPU and like what? 30% of your GPU.
