Lion tries to eat baby at zoo, is stymied by glass wall
The unrelenting natural order of the animal kingdom never looked so adorable. To this lion, this unsuspecting baby was the equivalent of a free shepherd's pie cooling on the savannah.
As the videographer explains, "At the zoo in Portland, Oregon the usually lazy lioness, Kya, tries desperately to eat my son through the glass. Jack is coincidentally dressed like a baby zebra in his black and white striped hoodie."

I just want to point this out. The parents find it so comical that this 300 pound lion is trying, but failing, at eating their son. What if the glass had broken and the lion had gotten though? It would have been called "Lion goes on rampage, murders innocent child", and the lion would have, in all likelihood, been killed, and the zoo would have been in serious trouble. While it would be the zoo's fault, could you really fault the lion? It really is just instinctual.
Please note I'm all rustled over this after watching the Disney Nature movie "African Cats" (awesome movie, I recommend it).

I agree, times like this make me wonder what's so funny about it.
I know right?
...
I don't get why they even leave their child that close to the glass in the first place.
If that was my child I would pull her/him away with lightning speed and hold her/him tightly in my arms.
But some people just put too much trust in things they don't have control over (like glass and a hungry lion) in my opinion.

I couldn't help to feel bad for the lion. I didn't see too much that was funny about it.
The monkey video was pretty funny though

Poor girl, all caged up in there...

Now on the hilarious side, what if that glass broke? Oh man oh man

Plexiglass is what the NHL uses around the rink, now a good check at the right spot or even a puck being shot can shatter it, i'm not sure if the consistency is the same, but it's definitely not shatter proof... Although yeah, that lion's NOT getting through it.

No way is that lion going to break that Plexiglass; Plexiglass is about 17 times stronger than say window glass, so people are at virtually zero risk from that lion.
