Hey all,

I just wanted to share my specs and see if anyone has any suggestions.
I'm pretty nooby when it comes to hardware though, but I'm learning bit by bit.

Here is some basic info from my DXdiag:

Spoiler

GW2 ran really really smoothly on this system during last beta, but I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to increase graphics quality.

The beta wasnt optimized meaning most of your quality came from your CPU and not your GPU. From the looks of it, I dont think you would need to upgrade, but I would wait until the game is closer to being released before upgrading.

Your fine. If anything I'd consider upgrading to a sandybridge.

I've found that some people don't realize Intel released non-"K" SandyBridge CPU's which aren't unlocked or they confuse them with older generations due to the lack of a "K". He does indeed have SandyBridge and his CPU is more than enough for all of the current and future games due to Hyper-Threading allowing him to run 8 threads across 4 cores. The one thing I believe he could really benefit from purchasing is a monitor, it seems based on his DXDiag he's using a smaller monitor or for some reason choosing to use a 1680 x 1050 resolution which is really making me cringe, he has the power to run at 1920 x 1080 or 1920 x 1200 and he's pretty much just wasting the potential his system currently has. If he did buy a new monitor he could join the masses of people like myself who went to a dual monitor configuration and are unable to ever go back to using a single monitor ever again.

As for the graphical quality if you ran smoothly in the Beta there is little you can do, it's now up to the optimization process ArenaNet uses to push the engine processing onto the GPU and CPU evenly or at least factor in the GPU better, I was just breaking 60% of my HD6850 for a lot of the time I spent playing GW2. Once the game is optimized on the engine side of things I imagine we'll see a lot of people running the game at higher settings than they used in the first beta weekend event.

These are all based on my personal opinions and my thoughts on the subject, do not take my recommendations as a fact they are an opinion, you can continue to use your current monitor and be just fine I just feel like given your current PC specifications you're really throwing away a lot of the potential your PC has by not utilizing 1080p + 23"+.

Definitely need more ram ;)

But on a serious note, you're more than fine, as said the beta was pretty unoptimized and most (if not all) the lag was server side.
