I was previously interested in playing the game, but for some reason my launcher was bugged. I ended up becoming lazy / too uninterested to attempt to fix it, so I just moved right along. I may try it again to see if something was fixed with the launcher. :]

I've played (and streamed) a bit of it, they seem to improve by leaps and bounds every few weeks. I played a ton of T2 and T1 growing up so the series has a special place in my fps player heart. I think T:A is still inferior to T2/1 but I understand they are trying to introduce the game to a much larger audience so I can respect that.
The official "release" is soon right? I wonder if there will be any big changes.

Official release is tomorrow, actually. Wish I wasn't so crappy at the game, but it's still very fun.

They added Raindance to the map rotation. That makes this awesome to me.

You can just play Tech (set up turrets and repair.) That is what I do on the Crossfire map. I usually come in 3rd or so.

I'm having a blast. I've only ever played Aerial Assault (PS2), but I loved it then and now.

I play Tribes: Ascend, we were talking about it in TeamSpeak and some people seem to also have it and some people might end up installing it. My name is "wFPwnz", I play Raider and a mix of the other classes.

TA, at least the last I played it which was around a month or so ago, is still a far cry from T2. It's fun, but it's definitely its own game. I think they will never make TA as complex or daunting to learn as T2/T1 because they're really trying to appeal to a larger audience.
But the core gameplay I suppose is the same, there's discs, momentum, a little bit of vehicle action (no bombers though). I always felt like in T2 you had a lot of flexibility but in general there were only a handful of "sets" - as a light I remember running with spinfuzor, grenades, and chaingun, all in the same loadout. TA puts a lot more emphasis on your "class" in the game, limiting your playstyle but presenting more unique weapons such as the remote detonate grenade launcher (I forget the name, it's on the infiltrator's class), shotguns, etc.
