I know this game is, "so last year" but I've really been itching to play, so I'm going to be picking the game up in the next few days. Anyone else have a PS3 that plays?

Awesome, what's your PSN ID? I'll go ahead and add you. I've been working with Sonya non-stop for about 2 hours now without reading any guides on Test Your Might or anything. I've come up with my own (probably crappy) combo that does 24% in 6 hits.
This game is so much fun!!!

:] I'll add you!
So far I've dabbled with Sona, Jax, Noob, Nightwolf, and Sub-Zero. I'm really liking Sub-Zero, but I do eventually want to master Nightwolf/Jax/Sona. I found their combo strings too difficult to poke into, which is why I'm leaning towards Sub-Zero. He seems like he has a very manageable defensive game in which you can punish jump ins or aggression with DB1 and then proceed to combo from there.
I have managed to successfully perform my first *real* 30% combo with any character; using Sub-Zero. The combo was: 2,2,ice blast,JIP,2,1,4,slide= 8 hits(30%). I'm going to continue working my way down through his bread and butters as I become efficient with some other more advanced combos/tactics.
I really wish there were some characters that had pop-ups or combo strings starting with a low move. That would probably be a little overpowered and annoying though :]

I nailed down a combo into X-Ray for Sub-Zero today! Woot for 50%! The only time I've used Striker was in Story Mode, and I really liked him. Since I'm madly in love with Sub-Zero right now, I think he's going to be my main - not going to touch another character till I feel satisfied with my level of Sub-Zero play!
There's just too many characters I want to play, it's depressing! I took my Sub-Zero online earlier for some KOTH and went 2/2! PSN is bugging out today so the match dropped on my 3rd (which I would have won!)
Amoner, I added you on PSN... Just accept it at your leisure and we can spar some if you'd like. Major, do you play MK9? If so, on PS3?
