I personally enjoyed Final Fantasy 7 the most. FF8 was good, FF9 was good, but not as great as FF8 (heh, rhyme), and FF10 was my least favorite. The voice acting was new and great, but I really didn't like the story as much as 7,8, & 9. I've been considering going back to play everything previous to FF7, but haven't found the drive / time.
I was watching someone stream FF7 this morning while I was getting ready for work, and made me desire to play FF7 again! I think I'll start there and make my way on up! I know it's pretty cliche` to respond with FF7 being my favorite, but you really can't deny the storyline that really gets you invested in the characters.
Which Final Fantasy is your favorite and why?

I never really played 7, but I heard it was good... I knew friend who logged in over a thousand hours in FF7, but I have no opinion in it.
I think probably 11 is my favorite. I didn't play the MMO for very long, but I loved the style it offered. It was a good port from single player to multiplayer, as well as from Play Station to computer.
The other two would probably be 10, just because it was my first FF game, and then FF9 because of Vivi's badassery.

Final Fantasy 6 is my favorite. I like the way every character is played differently (Gau's beast skill, Cyan's charge bar, Sabin's fighting-game style input). Everything about of game from the the music and art to the storyline was so good!
All the characters were so memorable. Sephiroth may be a little messed up in the head but Kefka was just ONE BAD DUDE. To this day, I still think Shadow is the most bad-ass FF character of all time and that dog was so awesome! It had the ability to block boss attacks and would randomly jump in a fight to hit someone for 9999 dmg! I just realized I now need to rename my dog Interceptor.
If I had to envision Killykyll as an FF character, he would be Shadow hands down for being so cold-blooded he would "kill his best friend for the right price" LOL!

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite community on Guild Wars 2.

My vote probably doesn't count for much because I have yet to finish one, but I have at least played through a good chunk of 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 12, and 13. That being said I know how they all end/important moments in them. I enjoyed the story of 7 the most, the combat system of 12, and the upgrade/level up system of 13 (which is similar to 10's). If I had to choose a favorite overall, it would be 7.

I watched a friend play Final Fantasy VII from start to finish when it first came out and having had no access to games outside of arcades before it was an amazing introduction to many things (the FF series, the rpg genre, console gaming, in-game cinematics, a worthwhile story in a game, fun combat mechanics, etc.) I think that being my first really elevates it in my gaming memory to a point that no other game will ever come close. Although I did also enjoy playing 8, 9, 10, and 10-2. The MMO seemed awful to me - too much pain for the gain. And 12 was such a disappointment that I haven't gone back.

First Final Fantasy I ever played was VII. I remember popping in the disc and not shortly after giving up on it for a few months due to the scorpians bosses terrible (and ultimately misleading) dialog "tip" (hey I was seven give me a break!) Anyways, I soon then got past that conundrum and went on to beat the game.. Such a masterpiece in every sense, and as such it truly inspired my desire to be a gamer.
However my favorite Final Fantasy ever is X. The characters, the story mode, the graphics, the battle system, everything and I mean EVERYTHING, was awesome. Heck I even think the opening Heavy Metal music got me into that genre. Heck I loved FFX so much I actually 100% FF-2 to see the "true" ending of Tidus and Yuna....
Good times... Good times.
