I initially came to the same conclusion about the ending but I believe there could be more to it than what most people think. I'll link yous a very interesting and somewhat convincing video that might help you understand the ending a bit more. its a bit long though but it was worth it since my opinion about the ending has changed.

Wow, Bioware really threw another turd in the stew. That being said, I fully support developers bringing their vision forward, but Bioware just doesn't seem to understand their vision is pretty blurred at the moment.
I doubt this will go anywhere but it does let Bioware know once again their failings are normally about not listening to consumers. Congrats to EA for buying a company that is causing them a lot of trouble.

I actually think that there was a lot of oversight and direction given by EA. You can see the quality of games drop off significantly since the purchase: DA2, SWTOR (oh the humanity), and now ME3. DA2 in particular was asked to be produced by EA in significantly shorter timelines (7 months vs. 4 years), resulting in a much poorer product (poor design, bugs, recycled environment).
With SWTOR, they've basically made it a pet project for all the people who worked on WAR, including putting the guy Gabe, who was a former DAOC and WAR Dev guy, in charge of PvP.
The company is Bioware in name only - and while I think this might be pushing it a little too far, I would certainly enjoy EA receiving a lawsuit or investigation from the FTC.

Interesting video standby.
What's the use of shouting? If I die here, then I was only able to reach this level!
