According to ArenaNet, all items awarded by the HoM are purely cosmetic.

Yup, don't get your hopes up. They are just skins you can apply to your gear to change the appearance. GW1 titles had some cool /bonus items that were useful in certain situations, but nothing overpowered.

It says I'm at 3/50. But I beat Nightfall and have some heroes and minipets, so I think I just need to install Eye of the North to get those counted, right? I don't even know if it's worth it, or if I would have enough time to do it. I don't think I have any money, and I don't like having to babysit a party of heroes through everything. Maybe I can shoot for 10 or 20/50.

Literally, most areas and missions you can let heroes do all the work for you. just press C and then space

FoWsc is pretty easy to do casually for money and stuff like SoOsc is good for rare materials (hidden treasures). Zkeys through pvp are also a really good source of cash. DoA is an amazing source of money but requires a coordinated team to do it quickly & efficiently.

Like lockon said, you can just hench your way through everything on normal, 30 is ridiculously easy to get. It irks me at how easily you give up and I really hope you dont have such a hopelessly abysmal attitude in gw2. I'll help you if you need it just stop being so fucking negative, you arnt trying to defuse a bomb, just doing some quests and learning the back story of the game you want to spend the majority of your time playing.

Also, if you dont enjoy it, just dont do it, but grouping with people does make it more fun.

MOD EDIT: Cool it. Some people think and do different things in different ways. Accept it and move on this isn't a crucial topic.

The saved hom calculator i linked you pretty much only need you to finish the campaign as in missions. The rest of the way can be done with money which free said he'll provide. When we help others, it looks like we can do it with easily and fast, that's because we have our heroes geared up equipment and skill-wise. The 7 hero support team build is a good general party composition to go do anything with ease, that's what Zirith uses because he plays a melee profession. I run the 7 hero discord support team build(with some tweaks/adjustments) because i play a caster profession so i have the energy to perform the discordway.

Kuro finished his 30pt fairly quick because he ran through the campaign with help from others in pve and then he got some money help and started buying the rest of his way to 30. Really, about 5-10% of the first 30 hom pt is pve and then you can zoom your way up to 30 with money. Again, if you need help with anything, just ask anyone of us and we'd be glad to help.

P.S. I'll help you whenever i'm on since i'm at the most tedious stage to achieve my full 50pt so i've been procrastinating on that lately (procrastinating in a game, that's a first...).

edit: nevermind, just removed it, I guess it's not adding to the topic. I do wish you'd reconsider your judgement on my attitude though Zirith. I enjoy a challenge and am not a quitter. I'm investing non-trivial amounts of time in this even though I'm really just interested in the cosmetics of a few weapons. I don't think it's fair to compare my motivation to obtain cosmetic rewards in an old game I don't particularly enjoy to my motivation to play GW2.

Thanks for the offer Orz. I feel really guilty asking people who aren't doing the same thing to stop what they're doing and help me obtain some cosmetic rewards, so I want to try and get it done without taking the time of others.

I feel the same way. I've been progressing through my HoM very slowly but it's already so much of a snoozefest that I'm not looking to drag anyone else along.

Sorry for being a bit harsh, you just made it seem like there was absolutely no hope of you ever getting to 30, and since i can probably do it on a fresh account in under 24 hours i found it a tad annoying. (also 3am)

Here is the fastest way to get 30 hom points if you have money (which you will have a lot of) : http://hom.guildwars...AAAgAAAAAAKCAIA

Lots of people will help you out if you just ask.

Edit: If you go for the pvp title, it will cost you another 1.1 million gold, on top of the ~620k for all of the items mentioned above.

Otherwise you could get 10 more companions dedicated (requires beating eye of the north, really easy)

do 1 of the following :

• the deep (1-2 hours)
• urgoz warren (1-2 hours)
• a protector title (keep in mind that if you do all the bonuses as you go through a campaign that this becomes really easy)

And 1 more point, the fastest way would be to buy a torment weapon. The new total goes to about 640k + 23e or around 140e if we think of an ecto as worth 8k or 98 if an ecto is 8.5k to sell.

It used to cost wayyyyyyy less to get this like 200k less >.>, but ya really easy.

I don't play the game by myself anymore but I actually enjoy playing with other people even if it's just to get cosmetic stuff. As a benefit I have builds that let me clear most stuff pretty fast so you might find the process less of a chore. Feel free to ask for my help anytime; I'm always looking for something to do.
