I dont think the servers are gonna be stressed that much... its still a closed beta.

They said the point of these beta tests will be to stress servers: Guild Wars 2’s next closed beta test is scheduled for late-March and will provide players with an opportunity to experience its deep RPG game elements, epic World v.. World battles and inviting social gameplay while helping the team load test the servers.

This game will probably never have an open beta or it will have one on the very last beta event. ArenaNet doesn't seem to like the idea of an open beta, because open beta usually turns more into an early trial than a beta for real testing. So whether it's an open or closed beta doesn't mean much.

That being the case, they must be planning to open the flood gates for the beta tests.

Yes, that's kind of the point of these events. It's important to keep in mind that other closed beta testing is going on right now all the time. These events are just meant to scale things up, so it makes sense they would be used for stress testing.

They did say that there will be beta signups for the upcoming beta tests, however by signing up for the first one you've signed up for all of the following ones. Although you can't sign up for the very first beta test, just keep an eye out for new beta events signups after that one ends!

Good news, I was expecting something mid to late march. I'm glad it's going to be limited as well, it's nice to focus on a few things like stress testing and wvw. Now I need to finish Skyrim and ME3 by then. :\

So, pretty much after this the game should (in theory) be ready to launch? Would assume so since they're making the point of the beta test to stress test their servers...

Although there are supposed to be several weekends of testing so heck, who knows... Can't imagine them doing it for more than 4 weeks.

i can. i'd say there will be several betas still to come. They won't do a beta every weekend cause they need time to work on the feedback given to them by the ppl involved in the beta. So 1 beta event at the end of march. I think we might see anything between 2 or 4 more betas. So yeah, my bet is the game won't be launched before may and even then i'm not so sure...

I'd guess a week before. So that people have time to download the Beta and get prepared ;D
