Any reason they are offering this for free? These actually good products?
Edit: Looked it up here's their reasoning:

But still not sure on the quality.
Neat though

Wow, that's awesome! Thanks unff! I remember how frustrating it was to use free low-quality 3d modellers when I was modding CoD1. Good to know I won't have to deal with that anymore

Gonna try these programs out, since I haven't touched 3D modelers since freshman year- great find Unff!

I really appreciate this! It'll be nice to have a diversity in software, and honestly their lighting engine and animation looks very good, can't wait to try it out. Downloading as we speak, if anyone is interested in these, I'd suggest downloading soon as the deal expires on February 20th.
On this note:
Autodesk does offer Inventor, 3DS Max, Maya, and Mudbox for free for students, but be warned: you'll have a rough ride. I can't speak for their other products, but we used the Maya and Mudbox student versions for my 3D intro class and ran into so many problems. My professor (who has the retail copies) was pretty appalled at the state of the student versions. There were a lot of bugs and random issues that we honestly couldn't figure out, and though I've seen people on the internet agree it is the student version's fault, no one knows how to fix those problems. So really, if you encounter things not working or random files getting messed up (we had major issues on one project with files reverting to previous saves and overriding the new saves), you just have to roll with the punches. I'm not saying they aren't bad programs, I love Maya and use it all the time, and while some people have little issue with the student versions, I've seen many others with problems, so be ready to compromise with the program a little bit.

Just a reminder tho, autocad, 3dmax and other products from autodesk are free to use for any students, you just have to signup with your school email.
