Wait a second...you bought the alpha? Bad, bad move. Companies that make you pay for alpha can't produce a product without that payment and often leads to a forever unfinished product due to lack of funds. I'm not calling the game bad, I've never seen it, but that business model has in the past stolen a lot of money from good people.

That is a very good point, and in the video I do recommend waiting for later alpha/beta. But I do have some reason to believe that the game is getting finished. For one thing the studio has other finished titles, and It's also being released/developed by Mojang (the minecraft guys). I'm not giving in my guarantee, but there is (at this point in time and for the last month two) a pretty strong community. For instance there's already a website where people submit maps they've made in the level editor that comes with the game. The community isn't minecraft big, but it's there.
That being said, I got burned in exactly the way you describe by Stellar Impact, so I'm not totally trusting of this business model anymore.

FWIW, that business model worked fantastic for Mincraft, and this game is being published by the company that made minecraft.

This game is amazingly fun.
As you say in your video, the bullet time works so well! I havent tried this out a Lan yet, but I can't wait to play it with my friends.
At the latest version of the game, they added an extra Survival map as well, and it's very well put together.
They also added extra multiplayer maps, and at some point a map editor will be made available as well.

100% disagree, many small companies use this model to help support the insane cost of making games. Games that do not have the pedigree to land a decent publisher need to think outside the box.

Venture capitalists abound. You see if it fails the CUSTOMER loses money. If it is being paid for by a capitalist with the money to TAKE THE RISK the consumer is protected.
Using the example of Minecraft does not remove the horrid failures of the past.
Now being this has a pedigree behind it, it does make it a safer bet. But it is still a bet and I stand by my viewpoint that consumers should not buy alpha or betas (loosely defined).
