I actually have my SNES to this day because of this game and Super Final Fantasy. This version is updated, but it still has that same nostalgic feel for me about how RPG stories used to be written. Simple characters, with complex quest chains that really hit the heart strings.
That isn't to say that RPGs today aren't doing a good job, they are, and in some cases a really good job. Something about Squaresoft (precursor to Square Enix) characters though make them so memorable!

The only Final Fantasy that really mattered back then was FFVI (which I'm also a HUGE fan of). That's what put Square on the map. But Chrono Trigger opened all the doors. My CT is in excellent condition, and I'm going to play through it again soon for like the 55th time.
