Hey Bialba!
There are a lot of options for screen recording out there, the ones most worth mentioning are indeed; Fraps and WeGame. WeGame (if you use the free option that is) only offers half screen recording which means that for example, if you're playing a game in 1920x1080, you'll record in 960x540. It just depends what your needs are in terms of quality.
Fraps can record full screen, but you have to buy it. (If you're an honest person, if you know what I mean...
)
Now the other thing I've seen here about WeGame not recording sound; that's not true. WeGame IS capable of recording sound, it's just not that simple as with fraps as it's built in with fraps. You have to select your Stereo-Mix as your 'mic'.
You can read about it here: WeGame Sound Recording
As for recording on the PS3, you'll need something like a dazzle for low quality, or an HD PVR / BlackMagic intensity pro to record. That's hardware yeah.
Hope that helps.
Good luck!

Could be! I haven't checked out xsplit before, my bad. ^^
I should've done that before submitting my post actually.
EDIT: I downloaded it, installed it and then I realised that you'll have to pay for it soon. : (

Yes, but from I understand it allows you eliminate any other program for casting and recording ever needed. And I know everyone from Day9 to MLG used it. And the price is $40 for 2 years! If you buy it now... I would like to buy that, because I have plans for the future

I benchmark a lot, so I find that fraps is extremely useful, even with just the free version. I do believe you have to adjust some settings in fraps, otherwise you will start recording movies when you open your inventory in Guild Wars 1 xD, but that was just a noob issue with me.
